What: A live panel with members of the UX community where we'll talk about how we're coping with the state of things. Expect the conversation to be freewheeling and cover subjects from how we're spending our time and trends we're seeing, to the cultural artifacts that are keeping us grounded.

Margot Bloomstein is the principal of Appropriate, Inc., a brand and content strategy consultancy based in Boston, and one of the leading voices in content strategy. She’s a popular keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and author; you might know her as the author of Content Strategy at Work (2012), producer of BrandSort, or furtive livetweeter of the Amtrak Quiet Car. For 20 years, she’s helped shape content strategy as a practice and industry. Her clients include retailers, universities, financial institutions, and international candy companies. Today, she also researches how brands establish trust and what UX and marketing professionals can do to empower people through content and design. Look for her book coming in spring 2021. She has worked from home for a decade, now alongside a toddler, husband, and ridiculous chocolate stash.

Sadia Latifi is a content strategist, creative manager and freelance writer based in San Francisco, CA. Right now she is the Head of Content Strategy for Airbnb Experiences. Before that, she was at Pinterest, leading creative and writing. Even before that, she was at The Barbarian Group working on projects for GE, Bloomberg Philanthropies and Samsung.

Yesenia Perez-Cruz is a designer, speaker, and writer based in Philadelphia. Currently, she’s a Senior UX Manager at Shopify where she leads the cross-functional Polaris design system team. Before that, she led the design system for Vox Media properties, including The Verge, Vox, and Eater. She is also the author of Expressive Design Systems, a book about enabling cohesion, harmony, and creativity with design systems. She has spoken at events around the world about the intersection of design and technology and is passionate about increasing inclusion in tech, designing responsibly, and leading with empathy.

 

Host:

Amy Thibodeau is a director of UX at Shopify, based in Toronto, Canada. She previous worked as a product content strategist at Facebook, and before that worked in communications roles mostly in arts organizations.
